In the 1950’s and 1960’s, neighbors and friends worked tirelessly to prevent the Ebenezer Maxwell Mansion’s destruction and promote its restoration. Their efforts have became a powerful symbol of community action to preserve one of America’s great neighborhoods.

The Mansion is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to maintaining and interpreting Philadelphia’s only authentically restored Victorian house museum and garden. Revenue from membership and contributions helps defray the costs of operation, restoration, maintenance, and educational programs.
